Discover what areas are made for photos, others for peace and quiet, and a few are just made for barefoot living. Here’s your guide to Key West’s best experiences, depending on your mood.
🌅 For the Sunset Chaser
You can’t beat Mallory Square at golden hour. The nightly Sunset Celebration features street performers, musicians, and that perfect view. Head early to grab conch fritters from a food cart and claim your spot.
🐠 For Families & Snorkelers
Fort Zachary Taylor State Park is a must. Clear water, shaded picnic spots, and historical sites make it a full-day destination. Snorkel gear rentals are available on-site. More info.
Pro Tips:
✅ There are no trash cans so bring a trash bag to dispose of your trash.
✅The water is a little rocky so bring some water shoes!
✅ One of my favorites places for sunset!
🧘♀️ For Peace & Quiet
For low-key locals’ vibes, head to the lesser-known areas around Casa Marina, Lagerheads or the West Martello Tower area. You’ll find shaded spots, nature, shallow water, and far fewer crowds.
Pro Tips:
✅You don't have to stay at the Casa Marina to enjoy lunch at the outdoor bar. This facility has some of the best views on the island. Give it a try!
✅Lagerheads is known by few. Enjoy the small beach and stop in to have some food and drinks as well!
✅Inside the West Martello Tower is the home of the Key West Garden Club! Enjoy the orchids, butterflies, and waterfalls within.
